Realscreen is updating its annual mentorship program, Pathways, in tandem with the reimagined Realscreen Summit Virtual Marketplace taking place in early 2021.

The new Pathways program has been revamped to select young, up-and-coming industry professionals who will gain professional development through mentorship opportunities and complimentary access to the Realscreen Summit Virtual Marketplace. The goal of the program is to further develop the careers of content creators who are under the age of 30, by pairing them with leaders in unscripted and non-fiction entertainment production who will provide guidance and feedback to aid them in their professional development.

An A-list team of mentors is providing time and expertise to contribute to the program, with each mentor to be paired with a selected finalist. This year’s mentors are: Kate Beal, chief executive officer for Woodcut Media; Colby Gaines, executive producer and founder of Back Roads Entertainment; Geno McDermott, president of U.S. alternative television and unscripted programming for eOne; Tiffany Nicholson Horton, executive vice president and head of development for Sweet July Productions; and Isabel San Vargas, president of production and operations for Propagate Content.

As part of the program, the mentors will provide to participants: a pre-event call to prepare for the Realscreen Summit Virtual Marketplace and discuss goals; two face-to-face meetings in the Realscreen Summit Virtual Marketplace to see how they are progressing during the online event; and a post-event check in with to debrief about their Summit experience and discuss next steps.

Realscreen, meanwhile, will provide to participants: full Content and Marketplace+ access to the 2021 Realscreen Summit Virtual Marketplace (January 25 – February 4, 2021); a virtual meet and greet with all mentors during the Summit; and a subscription to Realscreen‘s daily newsletter and access to The Brief, Realscreen‘s Global Pitch Guide.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, November 6 at 11:59pm ET. For more details and applicant/submission requirements, click here.
