Discovery has given a global greenlight to a Brooklyn-based antiques and collectables series starring Billy Leroy, of Travel Channel’s Baggage Battles fame, from Michael Yudin‘s MY Entertainment.

Billy Buys Brooklyn (pictured; working title) follows the eccentric businessman and appraiser as he opens Billy’s Antiques & Props, a vintage, antiques and collectables store in Brooklyn.

The 20 x 30-minute series will follow Leroy and his team as they utilize their network of antiques experts to seek out unique items – from a rare ’80s Haro BMX Bike, to a Victorian walking cane hiding a gun – to ensure his latest venture is successful.

Simon Downing, SVP and head of factual and sport at Discovery UK, and Victoria Noble, VP of original content for factual, ordered the series.

Discovery’s Jon Stephens serves as executive producer alongside MY Entertainment’s Michael Yudin, Joe Townley and John Yakovou.

Billy Buys Brooklyn is to broadcast globally on dplay and linear channels including DMAX in the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany, as well as via Discovery Channel in the U.S. and throughout Europe.

A premiere date has yet to be announced.
