Steve Turney, a veteran TV executive and senior vice president of sales and acquisitions at London’s Power Entertainment, passed away this week after contracting COVID-19.

Turney (pictured) died at 59 in North Middlesex Hospital, London.

The executive took up his recent role at Power Entertainment in August 2019, after previously serving as VP of sales for the company between 2011 and 2015. The company coproduces, finances, acquires and globally distributes drama and factual programming.

He started his career at Columbia Pictures in 1978 before going on to work for Twentieth Century Fox International Television, Goldcrest Films International, Polygram Television International and Lumiere Pictures.

Regarding his passing, Power Entertainment issued a statement which read: “He was immensely popular, well-known for his infectious laugh and penchant for inappropriate jokes. He’ll be sadly missed by family and friends.”
