As we near the end of a year that most, if not all, of us will be glad to bid adieu to, I wanted to take this opportunity to fill you in on what we have in store for the first weeks of 2021.
With live, in-person events still on standby, we have opted to move our print magazine into hiatus mode until we have a clearer picture of when it will be able to grace the stands at the conferences and festivals we all know (and miss). Still, we are reimagining many of the features that have appeared in the magazine annually as online features — including our annual Trailblazers profiles, which began running last week and will continue into early 2021 and our Year in Review, which wraps up today (December 22). In the early weeks of 2021, look for our SVOD and AVOD overview, which will take a deep dive into the ever-evolving galaxy of platforms in the streaming space, and our development and commissioning report, which will examine global trends in these areas in the wake of a year that has disrupted — and provided new opportunities for — both components of the business.
As well, we’re working feverishly on final touches for the upcoming Realscreen Summit, which is also “going virtual” for 2021. And while the entire team wishes it could be on hand in New Orleans to meet and network with you, we are incredibly excited about the opportunities to reimagine the event and present an incredible array of speakers to you, with more big announcements to come. And we’re confident that you’ll love the new virtual look for the Realscreen Awards, so be sure to watch for more news on how to access the program.
Also, we’re very excited about rolling out our new and improved global pitch guide, The Brief, which will provide a comprehensive picture of the commissioning landscape, with all-important input from buyers about what they’re looking for. This will be offered to subscribers of the Realscreen daily, so look for more news, coming soon.
And speaking of the Realscreen daily, today’s newsletter issue will be the final of the year until we return to publishing on January 5, 2021.
With that, allow me to thank you all for your ongoing support and to wish you all, on behalf of the entire Realscreen team, a most peaceful and healthy holiday.
