UK pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a three-part series from Quizmaster and Inside Monaco: Playground of the Rich producer Spun Gold TV about the UK’s most lavish hotels.

Britain’s Most Luxurious Hotels (w/t; 3 x 60 minutes) goes behind the scenes at Corinthia, The Langham and Chewton Glen, following the staff as they work through a period of turmoil for the hospitality industry.

The series is produced and directed by John Joe Bardsley and executive produced by Anna Edwinson and Daniela Neumann.

It was commissioned by C4 commissioning editors for factual entertainment, Daniel Fromm and Becky Cadman, and is being distributed by All3Media International.

“This has been an extraordinary year for hotels and we have been given remarkable access throughout to see how three of Britain’s most luxurious hotels have fared– with and without guests,” said Spun Gold’s Neumann in a statement. “This is the perfect escapist series for all of us sitting at home and longing for a mini-break or holiday and the best rooms and service money can buy.”

Spun Gold TV’s recent productions for broadcasters in the UK and internationally include The Real Full Monty on Ice for ITV, Stephen Fry’s 21st Century Firsts for ITV, Paul Merton’s Comic Heroes for Channel 5 and Great Canal Journeys for Channel 4.
