Netflix is set to premiere a docuseries covering the world’s biggest tennis stars, in the same vein as its successful Formula 1: Drive to Survive series and its recently announced project on golf’s PGA Tour.

The series will offer a glimpse into the lives of some of the top men’s and women’s tennis players in the world through the perspective of the athletes and their teams, and will see Netflix team up with the four Grand Slam tournaments (Wimbledon and the Australian, U.S. and French Opens) as well as the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour, the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) Tour, and ATP Media.

Filming is already underway at the 2022 Australian Open, which is scheduled to run from January 17 to 30. Netflix states that the series will offer an equal platform to both the male and female competitors.

The series is produced by Box to Box Films, the same company behind Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive. James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin serve as executive producers.

“We are excited to continue bolstering our line-up of sports programming with this behind-the-scenes documentary series,” said Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice-president of unscripted and documentary series, in a news release.

“Tennis is beloved all over the world, with high-stakes tournaments hopping across continents and athletes hailing from countless countries. Through this historic partnership with the four Grand Slam tournaments, the ATP Tour, WTA Tour, and ATP Media, the series will be packed with rare access and rich personal stories.”
