Hulu has set an August 16 premiere for a new food-focused dating competition series, Hotties, with all 10 episodes dropping at once.

Produced by Bright Spot Content, an All3Media America company, the format not only matches two pairs of strangers on a blind date, but also pits them against each other in a battle to cook  up the best date-night-worthy dish. Sweating it out over the grills of food trucks parked in the desert, the two couples will take on extremely spicy food challenges, while also seeing if there’s any chemistry between them on the dating front.

Comedian Jade Catta-Preta serves as host, and will judge both what the couples are serving up on the plate and whether they’re generating any sparks. Whichever couple has the best plate, best date or both, wins a second date worth $2,500 — which they can accept, or simply split the cash and walk away, vowing to never see each other again.

Sandy Varo Jarrell, Suzanne Rauscher, and Bruce Klassen serve as executive producers on the series for Bright Spot Content, with Cam Frierson as co-executive producer.
