The Natural History Unit of Africa (NHU Africa) has announced the appointment of Vyv Simson to the newly created role of creative director and commissioning editor. Simson was previously an executive producer for Discovery Networks Europe's Animal Planet. Simson's career spans over 30 years producing, directing and commissioning programs, including his time as executive producer at Darlow Smithson Productions and in production in BBC's Current Affairs department. 'Working with NHU AFRICA is a fabulous opportunity' says Simson. 'The chance to help build a world class wildlife business in Africa, working directly with existing African filmmakers and helping to develop future African filmmaking talent is an absolute privilege and a massively exciting prospect for me. I feel as if all my Wildlife Christmases have come at once.' Simson will move to South Africa to take up his post in Cape Town this month.
