Picture Box Distribution to hold ‘Stranded in Cannes’ party

As MIPTV delegates continue to wait for flights out of France, Vancouver and Toronto-based Picture Box Distribution is calling all Canadians stranded in Cannes to come together and commiserate. The party, to be held tomorrow (Wednesday, April 21) at partner and director of sales Marilyn Kynaston's Cannes apartment, will feature hors d'oeuvres and 'a special ashtini.' Canadians from as many as 65 companies are currently stranded in Cannes, many of which are voicing their frustration with Telefilm Canada for not doing enough to help delegates who paid to be part of their presence at MIPTV. A spokesperson for Telefilm says the agency now has representatives working with the Canadian consulate in Paris to gather information that will be passed on to MIPTV delegates.
