Singapore named MIPTV’s Country of Focus

MIPTV will welcome Singapore's largest ever delegation from Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and International Enterprise Singapore as the country is spotlighted as MIPTV's Country of Focus. Singapore's Acting Minister for Communications, Information and the Arts (MICA), Lui Tuck Yew, is the guest of honor. There will be a half-day conference, joint hosted by Singapore, on April 12 that will highlight the country's self-sustaining media ecosystem and its successful partnerships with international broadcasters, distributors and studios. There are approximately 180 lifestyle and factual Asian-themed coproductions seen in more than 70 countries. The conference will also touch on Singapore's championing of stereoscopic 3D. Other activities include an exclusive VIP lunch and a networking event. The 14-company strong Singapore delegation includes broadcaster MediaCorp, which will have more than 224 hours of lifestyle, animation, factual and drama HD programming for international sale and distribution. Singapore will be using a unique method of reaching out to international media players using an online board game (www.journey.sg) that will feature the best of Singapore's media industry and collaboration opportunities.
