Screen Australia commits dollars to docs

Screen Australia has committed more than $13 million to 22 projects, triggering production valued at over $65 million. Of the funded projects, 14 of them are documentaries. The National Documentary Program Including History will fund Blackwattle Films' I, Spry, Heiress Company's Making Australia Happy and Screenworld's Outback Kids, all for broadcaster ABC. Projects funded under the Domestic Documentaries - One Offs category are November Films' Dancing with the Prime Minister for ABC, Tattooed Media's Fromelles' Lost Soldiers for Channel 7 and Conti Bros Films' A Very Short War for History Channel. Domestic Door - Documentary Series projects include Cordell Jigsaw Productions' Dying Days with SBS, Mindful Media's The Real Fight Club with SBS, Pursekey Productions' Boxing for Palm Island with ACT TV and Caama Productions' Nganampa Anwernekenhe - series 22 for broadcaster Imparja. International Documentary projects receiving funding are Prospero Productions' Dino Stampede with ABC and BBC Scotland, Fury Productions/Bionic Boy Productions'(SPV) Machete Maidens Unleashed! for ABC TV, Rymer Childs Films' Firing the Magic Bullet with SBS and Jennifer Crone Productions' Divorce Sharia Way with ABC TV.
