Beth Hoppe named EP of Discovery’s multi-year series

Discovery Studios has named former Optomen Productions president Beth Hoppe as executive producer of its upcoming major series Curiosity: The Questions of Life. The series is set to air over five years, with twelve hour-long episodes premiering per season and is the television component of the CURIOSITY project. The multi-year project will bring together academic experts and non-fiction producers to answer the fundamental questions and underlying mysteries of our time. The first season will premiere on Discovery Channel in February 2011 on Sundays. The series will have a global presence, with plans to air across Discovery networks in over 170 countries around the world. The CURIOSITY Project will also offer multi-platform academic capabilities through partnerships with Experius Academy, Discovery Education, and top colleges and universities.
