Discovery appoints Fox’s Peter Liguori as COO

Discovery has announced that former president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company Peter Liguori will be replacing Mark Hollinger as chief operating officer. Liguori will be reporting to president and CEO David Zaslav. Hollinger assumed the role of President and CEO of Discovery Networks International, announced last week. The new COO will join Discovery on January 19, 2010. Liguori's duties include operational responsibilities and serving as the lead executive representing Discovery Communications in its joint ventures with Hasbro, Inc., and OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
