Simon Shaps, former director of television at ITV, is due to join MercuryMedia's board as non-executive chairman in January. The board already includes MercuryMedia head Tim Sparkes and Joining the Docs MD Nick Ware. The multi-platform distributor of international documentaries distributes docs such as Rip: A Remix Manifesto; Transcendent Man; Barack Obama: People's President and Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup. It also runs the online video-on-demand documentary channel joiningthedocs.tv.
