NFB’s ‘Tiger Spirit’, CBC’s ‘Dragon’s Den’ nab Geminis

The Gemini Awards, which honor the best in Canadian television, awarded The National Film Board of Canada's Ontario Centre coproduction Tiger Spirit with the Donald Brittain Award for Best Social/Political Documentary Program. The doc ponders the question of how the two Koreas will be put back together, and offers a portrait of families affected by the division that began during the Korean War in the 1950s. It was produced by Storyline Entertainment and the NFB. In an earlier award reception, the Rezolution Pictures/NFB copro Club Native scored the Canada Award and the Gemini for Best Writing in a Documentary Program or Series, while The Wild Horse Redemption (Point Grey Pictures/CBC/NFB) won for musical score and photography in a documentary program or series.
