Canadian New Media Awards announce finalists

Finalists have been announced for nextMedia's Canadian New Media Awards, to be held in Toronto from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1. Among the doc and factual-oriented projects nominated are: the interactive site for Waterlife from the National Film Board of Canada, up for best cross-platform project; Food Network's mobile app from Canwest, up for - surprise, surprise - best mobile application, and EyeSteel Film's Open Source Cinema for RiP: A Remix Manifesto!, up for best use of social media.
