Discovery launches landmark blue chip docs

Discovery Communications today announced the launch of three landmark blue chip documentary specials which will be made available to third-party broadcasters through Discovery Enterprises International. The first, Discovering Ardi, is a two-hour special which documents the discovery of a 4.4 million-year-old female skeleton called 'Ardi' and looks at how hominids became bipedal. Stephen Hawking's Universe(w/t) is a three-part series which is a collaboration between Discovery Channel and Stephen Hawking. Using a combo of CGI, live action, archive and visual effects, the series will bring Hawking's vision of the universe to the screen in HD. Finally, Last Days of the Dinosaurs looks at the day that changed everything for the dinosaurs, revealing the story of their fight for survival.
