Maggie Gyllenhaal to host ‘Independent Lens’

PBS' long running series 'Independent Lens' is gaining a new host for the 2009/2010 season. Maggie Gyllenhaal will make her debut with the doc series October 13, 2009 when the season kicks off with Herb & Dorothy, a documentary about a postal worker and his librarian wife who have created one of best, and most priceless, collections of contemporary art in the world. Past seasons of 'Independent Lens' have been presented by actors such as Edie Falco, Angela Bassett, Don Cheadle and Susan Sarandon.
