Traverse City Film Fest racks up record attendance

Filmmaker Michael Moore, founder of the Traverse City Film Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, announced that this year's fifth-anniversary edition racked up record attendance. All told, over 96,000 admissions were recorded for this year's festival, which ran from July 28 to August 2. That number is approximately 16,000 admissions higher than the past two years. 'We sold more tickets in the first week of sales this year than we sold during the whole festival in 2008,' said Moore. 'This has been the best festival yet, with the largest crowds.' During the event, Moore also announced the establishment of the Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, likely to take place in the winter.
