Society of Professional Journalists salutes ‘Most Trusted Man in America’

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) issued a statement saluting the late broadcast news icon Walter Cronkite, with SPJ president Dave Aeikens affirming that Cronkite 'set the standard for anchors today.' Cronkite passed away on Friday at the age of 92. During his life, he was an active member of the SPJ, having penned a piece for its magazine The Quill in 1962 and appearing at its convention in 2004.
