Sundance Institute to receive $5 million grant toward doc film program

The Sundance Institute has been awarded a $5 million grant for its Documentary Film Program from the Open Society Institute (OSI). The grant is meant to help raise awareness on human rights through film and it renews the OSI's support for the Sundance Documentary Film Program. The program began at the OSI in 1996 and was made part of the Sundance Institute in 2002 with a $4.6 million gift. The Sundance Institute aims to raise $10 million over the next five years to support docs on contemporary issues.
