FremantleMedia’s Singapore Idol back for third season

FremantleMedia's Singapore Idol will return for its third season in August on Mediacorp TV Singapore Pte. Ltd in Singapore. The new season will once again be hosted by Singaporean actor-comedian Gurmit Singh and co-hosted by last season's SI winner Hady Mirza. Returning to the judging panel are musician Dick Lee; managing director of Mediacorp Radio, Florence Lian and music producer and director of Hype Records, Ken Lim. The show returns after a three-year hiatus with a few new elements (among them, the 'Judge's Save' and the allowing of musical instrument-playing Idol hopefuls), with this year's crop vying for a recording contract with Universal Music.
