Patrick Younge goes back to the Beeb as CEO of BBC Vision Productions

Outgoing Travel Channel president/GM Patrick Younge, who announced last month he was leaving the channel to head back to the UK, has been appointed as chief creative officer for BBC Vision Productions. Younge will be replacing Peter Salmon, who recently took the post of director, BBC North. He will also be taking what's considered to be the biggest production job in the UK, responsible for the delivery of a wide range of programming, including Strictly Come Dancing, Doctor Who, Top Gear, Antiques Roadshow, EastEnders, Dragons' Den, Watchdog, Nature's Great Events and The One Show. 'I'm delighted to welcome Patrick back to the BBC, to take on what is one of the most significant roles in UK broadcasting,' said BBC Vision director Jana Bennett in a statement. 'Patrick brings with him a wealth of experience from both here in the UK and the States... He is a truly modern thinker who understands how audiences consume content across different platforms. He also brings with him exceptional leadership and management skills and an ability to spot and nurture both on and off-screen talent.'
