British Pathe breaks off from ITN to form dedicated operation in UK

Newsreel archive British Pathe Limited, which has up until now been distributed by ITN, has announced that it is launching a dedicated operation in the UK. The move follows the recent acquisition of British Pathe from The Daily Mail and General Trust by main investors Tim Parker (chairman of Samsonite and PBL Media, owners of Nine Network in Australia) and venture capitalist Roger Felber. The archive of 3,500 hours of historical footage will be managed out of its new London office by Alastair White, who has worked with the archive before in his previous senior management role at ITN.
