A new generation of representation
As managing partner at the entertainment and sports agency founded by grandfather Phil Gersh, Bill Gersh specializes in representing artists in the alternative and unscripted sector. Son of agency co-head Bob Gersh, Bill manages a roster of both on-camera talent as well as directors, artisans, production companies and executives, while also handling other responsibilities on the operational side. After starting his career at Gersh in 2014 as an assistant, he was promoted to agent in the agency's Alternative Department in 2016. Prior to joining the agency, he worked in production across various reality, live television and variety projects.
He is credited by his colleagues as a creative thinker who looks for new approaches to packaging and funding projects and enjoys working on projects that are unique and break the mold. Among his recent projects is scoring the hosting gig on the CBS adaptation of the adventure reality format The Summit for his client, Australian-New Zealand actor Manu Bennett (Spartacus, Arrow). He also represents many directors — including Rich Preuss, who recently helmed the 2024 Billboard Music Awards and The Game Awards, as well as American Ninja Warrior director Patrick McManus, and also reps the cast of a soon-to-be announced new TLC docuseries. What's your most significant career achievement to date?
"One memorable deal I negotiated was the sale of Lux Machina, a company specializing in virtual production, to NEP Group and Carlyle. Other recent projects that I am excited about are placing Manu Bennett as host of CBS's new show The Summit and Kimberly Williams-Paisley on Fox as the new host of their show Farmer Wants A Wife. I'm also very proud of my client Rich Preuss on his latest directing success for The Game Awards, which smashed viewership records leading to more than 154 million livestreams."
