White Pine wins Canwest prize at TDF

White Pine Pictures took the Canwest award for best Canadian pitch at the Toronto Documentary Forum, Thursday. The award comes with a CDN$40,000 cash prize. The winning project, The Team was pitched by Peter Raymont (Shake Hand with the Devil) and is directed by Patrick Reed (Triage: Dr. James Orbiniski's Humanitarian Dilemma). The doc will follow the making of a TV soap opera in Kenya meant to reduce tribal tensions by featuring a soccer team overcoming their ethnic differences.
