Anti-piracy body to launch at DISCOP Africa

A new anti-piracy body for Sub-Saharan Africa, called Africa Media Rights Watch, will launch at the 2011 edition of DISCOP Africa. It was announced by organizers of DISCOP Africa, and came out of several meetings that took place during its last two markets. The initiative is supported by international key players such as Canal+ Overseas, M-Net and Cote Ouest, Africa's largest indie distributor, as well as by African associations of broadcasters and content producers. The objective of the new initiative is to help establish and promote a business environment respectful of copyright laws and of measures to enforce these laws.
