AETN UK launches History HD in Malta

Furthering the expansion of History HD in Europe, AETN UK is launching the channel on Maltese operator Melita PLC. The channel will broadcast 100% HD content and will offer a separate schedule from the standard definition service, which launched with Melita in November 2008. The channels feature a variety of historical genres from ancient to contemporary history, technology to natural history, as well as military history, science, archaeology and pop culture. Original series across the channels include The Universe, Modern Marvels, Ice Road Truckers and Ancient Discoveries. History is currently available in over 150 million households in more than 25 languages worldwide. AETN UK, the UK joint venture with BSkyB, launched in November 1995 and operates History, Bio, Crime & Investigation Network, Military History, History HD, Bio HD and Crime & Investigation Network HD in the UK. The joint venture also operates services in Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, Benelux, Central Europe, Sub-Sahara Africa and Greece.
