Kevin Hill

Head of television, Maximum Effort Productions

Building maximum cross-platform opportunities with strong talent

Heading up the original television production efforts at Maximum Effort, the multiplatform prodco and digital marketing shop co-founded by Ryan Reynolds and George Dewey, Hill has a pretty packed slate, with unscripted and scripted projects on tap for Hulu, Max, Fox, ABC, FX, Disney+, Nat Geo, CBC, Super Channel and more.

Having spent more than six years in the non-fiction department at William Morris Endeavor, and joining Maximum Effort following a stint at another prodco established by business-savvy celebs -- Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia's Seven Bucks Productions -- Hill knows how strong talent can power a project, and is using that acumen in developing programming for the Maximum Effort Channel, the prodco's foray into the FAST lane, in partnership with Fubo. Thus far, he and his team have produced five originals for the platform including Bedtime Stories with Ryan, starring Reynolds and The Syd and TP Show, featuring WNBA players Sydney Colson & Theresa Plaisance. What changes would you like to see and help create within the industry?

"I'd like to see meaningful strides taken behind the scenes to promote having diverse voices in rooms where decisions are being made. It not only makes projects better, it also protects storytellers and networks from their own blindspots if they're capable of admitting that they exist."
