Making history (and other genres) at scale
Joining the factual team at Pernel Media in 2014 as a development executive, Lucile Tien was subsequently appointed head of development at the leading French prodco in 2019. Steering projects from conception to sale across Pernel's unscripted slate, she has played a key role in the creation of the company's handsomely produced, re-enactment-heavy history and archaeology titles — including The Real War of Thrones, Secrets of the Pharaohs and Clash of Ancient Warriors — as well as such science and technology offerings as Record-Breaking Engineering. What's your most significant career achievement to date?
"Driving the development of The Real War of Thrones since its inception. This series has a special meaning for me, as I started working on the project when I joined Pernel Media and now it's reaching its eighth season. In many ways, we've grown together, and I'm very proud to see it gain recognition and build audiences in over 30 countries."
