Sarah Hoberman Shemtov

VP of development, The Intellectual Property Corporation

Bringing the journalist's edge to unscripted

Currently VP of development at The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), part of Sony Pictures Television, Hoberman Shemtov began her career as a journalist for ABC News, working on investigative and breaking news stories. Making the move into unscripted development, she found ways to lend her fact-finding chops to a wider range of content, landing roles at Leftfield Pictures, ATTN: and Herzog and Company, eventually running development for Dawn Porter's Trilogy Films. At IPC, her penchant for news has come in handy for such recent projects as the upcoming Sean "Diddy" Combs series for Max and CNN's United States of Scandal with Jake Tapper and MGM+'s The Wonderland Murders.

Says Aaron Saidman, co-president of Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction and co-founder and president of IPC: "Sarah is an exceptional asset to the team. Her versatility across genres is invaluable in today's dynamic and competitive marketplace." Justin Anderson

What's your most significant career achievement to date?

"I'll never forget the feeling of working on my first story as a journalist with ABC News where Barbara Walters was the correspondent. I called my grandpa right after it aired to share my excitement — it was a dream come true. I still feel that same rush today when a show I'm developing gets a greenlight and then resonates with a wide audience. I pinch myself knowing I get to collaborate with talent and IP I admire and work alongside creatives and colleagues I deeply respect."
