The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT) – the U.K.’s trade association representing independent production companies – has tapped John McVay to become chief executive. Currently director of the Glasgow’s Research Centre for Television and Interactivity, McVay will fill the shoes of Shaun Williams, PACT’s former head, early 2001.

Chris Fletcher, ITEL’s head of sales, has announced he will leave the company by the end of the year. Fletcher, who joined the company in 1990, is currently considering offers both in and outside of the industry, but hasn’t made any firm decisions as to where he will go next.

Pearson Television continues to announce new appointments:

Sue Adams has been promoted from general manager to managing director, Pearson Television Asia. Patrick Schult succeeds Adams from his current role as head of production Asia. Lastly, Indriena Basarah has been named director of business development Asia.

Discovery Networks, U.S. has promoted Annie Howell to vp, communications, and Christine Alvarez to director, licensed promotions.

Discovery Communications has named Andy Holtzman senior vp, Discovery Exhibits and Events.
