OWN juggles primetime schedule

Its Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes is moving to Sunday, and the net is reducing the number of nights of original programming.

Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has announced that one of its better-performing series, Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, is moving to Sunday nights from its original Friday night slot. As stated in its title, the series takes viewers behind the scenes of the final season of Winfrey’s long-running talk show.

Beginning March 27, the series will be seen at 8pm EST. On that night, the first installment of a two-part episode that features Winfrey taking 300 audience members to Australia. The two-part Season 25 will be followed on March 27th and April 3rd by a two-part edition of Master Class, also featuring Winfrey.

Sunday nights will also feature a new series, The Judds, starring country music mother-daughter duo Naomi and Wynona Judd.

The shuffle comes with the news that the network will be reducing the number of nights of original programming, from four to three (Monday, Tuesday and Sunday).
