Leftfield Pictures spinning off branded content division

New York-based prodco Leftfield Pictures (Pawn Stars, American Restoration) is spinning off its branded content division, Leftfield Creative.

Colby Gaines (pictured), co-founder of Leftfield Pictures with Brent Montgomery, will lead the branded entertainment shop, while Montgomery will take full control of Leftfield Pictures.

“Colby and I have ridden a terrific wave in the entertainment and production world, but as the industry has changed and evolved, so have our areas of interest,” said Montgomery. “Therefore, it is with great respect and much goodwill that we have decided to lead our own entities in entertainment and media.

“All of us at Leftfield Pictures are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for Colby, and know he will flourish in his new venture. Leftfield Pictures will continue to focus and execute on developing and producing the highest quality television for our network partners.”

“Brent and I spent 10 years together building Leftfield Pictures into the great production brand it has become today,” said Gaines, a member of the advisory board for the upcoming realscreen Branded Entertainment Forum. “It has been an extremely exciting ride. However, we have reached a point where both of our creative juices are flowing in different directions.

“I see a real opportunity to build off my past success and take Leftfield Creative further into the exploding branded arena. I wish Leftfield Pictures continued success.”

Leftfield Creative will be establishing its new operations in the weeks ahead.
