Endemol Brazil has appointed Juliana Algañaraz, most recently operations and productions services director at Fox Brazil, as its general manager.

In her new position, which begins August 13, she will report to Martin Kweller, Endemol’s creative and operations director for Latin America.

Prior to her time with Fox, Algañaraz also had stints at RedeTV! as a manager of acquisitions and new content, at RPC-TV as a manager of artistic production, and at Casablanca Group as a director of content. Earlier, she’d worked at Channel 13 in Argentina as an executive producer, at Discovery Networks Latin America as a production manager, and at Canal Azul/Teleimage as an exec producer.

Recent successes for the global producer in the region have included unscripted entertainment series The Money Drop, The Last Passenger, Cuestion de Peso, My Name Is and Big Brother. Endemol also conducts international production for entertainment formats including Fear Factor and Wipeout through production hubs in Argentina for various broadcasters.

“Juliana has an exemplary track record and a well-deserved reputation as a first class producer and executive,” said Kweller of the appointment. “I’m thrilled to have her with us as we look to further expand our activities in Brazil.”
