Super-indie Argonon has launched a factual prodco, BriteSpark Films, founded by former Cineflix head of documentaries Nick Godwin (pictured).

The joint venture will see boutique production company BriteSpark creating factual and specialist factual for an international audience. The start-up will aim to benefit from Godwin’s coproduction expertise, having worked within the UK, U.S. and Canadian markets.

The company will operate from Argonon’s London office, and will work closely with TCB Rights, which is headed up by ex-Cineflix exec Paul Heaney. TCB Rights will oversee the international IP and rights management of all programs, alongside Argonon International.

Godwin previously oversaw Nazi Hunters, Manson, Air Aces and Cold Blood at Cineflix, and also served as head of documentaries at Wag TV, where he developed and oversaw projects for the BBC, Channel 4 and Five in the UK, as well as Discovery and National Geographic in the U.S.

“I am delighted to be partnering with Argonon to launch BriteSpark Films,” said Godwin. “My passion is creating compelling television, TV that gets people talking, with great characters and storytelling at its core; and this is what I hope to continue through BriteSpark Films. I look forward to delivering on our founding vision, by creating popular factual and high-end specialist factual.”

Argonon’s other companies include Leopard Films, Leopard Films USA, and Remedy Productions Canada.
