Following its roll-out in the UK last October, popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter is unveiling an official app.

Available today (February 14) for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the Kickstarter app focuses on giving users the chance to find new projects and keep up to date with projects they’ve backed, while giving creators of Kickstarter campaigns useful tools at the ready.

The app’s searchability function allows users to browse projects by category, watch project videos, and use location service to find projects nearby. In addition, people can back a project directly from their phone, and an activity tab collects updates from projects that have been backed.

Creators, meanwhile, can be kept up to date on their project’s progress, and they can also share pictures and videos from their iPhone.
