Channel 5 orders “On the Buses”

UK broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned the ob-doc bus driver series On the Buses from The Garden Productions and GroupM Entertainment.

UK broadcaster Channel 5 has commissioned an ob-doc series about bus drivers from The Garden Productions and GroupM Entertainment.

On the Buses (eight x 60-minutes, working title) follows the staff at East Yorkshire Motor Services, a family-run bus company that operates in Hull, Scarborough and the surrounding areas. The cast will feature drivers, passengers and executives and operations employees working in the board room and the control room.

The executive producers are Spencer Kelly for The Garden and Tony Moulsdale and Melanie Darlaston for GroupM Entertainment. The series producer is Rob Rawlings. Emma Westcott commissioned the show for Channel 5.

On the Buses will begin airing in early 2014.
