HBO goes to “Bed”

The U.S. premium cable net is exploring love, sex and marriage via a copro with the BBC, Americans in Bed, airing August 12 and closing this year's summer documentary series.

U.S. premium cable net HBO is exploring love, sex and marriage via Americans in Bed, a copro with the BBC slated to premiere on August 12.

The 90-minute special, which wraps up the network’s summer documentary series,¬†follows 10 couples spanning a range of ages, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations as they share the triumphs and challenges of their amorous lives with director Philippa Robinson, who, in addition to being the doc-maker behind the BBC’s The British in Bed, is also a trained counselor.

The doc will air four times during the month of August on HBO and also will air on HBO2 on August 14.

Executive producers of Americans in Bed are Sheila Nevins for HBO and Jane Tranter for the BBC and senior producer is Lisa Heller.
