C4, Rize unite for “Liberty”

UK pubcaster Channel 4 has tapped Rize USA to produce Making Liberty (working title), a three-part series about iconic London department store Liberty.

UK pubcaster Channel 4 has tapped Rize USA to produce Making Liberty (working title), a three-part series about iconic London department store Liberty.

The series documents Liberty’s buying and retail teams as they gear up for the Christmas season, the store’s busiest time. Liberty has recently transformed from a department store almost falling into bankruptcy into a profitable business, according to the filmmakers. Making Liberty¬†will air on Channel 4 in the fall.

“Liberty is the last bastion of eccentric, eclectic design and is jam-packed with a wonderful cast of colorful characters,” said Emma Cooper, the network’s commissioning editor of documentaries. “Making Liberty will tell the everyday extraordinary stories of life within one of the world’s best-loved and well-known stores.”
