Toronto-based indie producer and distributor Shaftesbury has promoted Ryan St. Peters to VP of sales and business development.

In the expanded role, St. Peters will continue to develop sales and distribution strategies for TV and digital platforms, for both Shaftesbury and its digital media division, Smokebomb Entertainment.

He will also build partnerships with third-party producers, focusing on acquiring factual,┬ákids and digital content, and explore revenue and exposure opportunities for Smokebomb’s digital properties.

St. Peters joined Shaftesbury in 2005 as sales rep, and was promoted to manager of sales in 2010 and director of sales in 2012. According to Shaftesbury, he has sold the company’s content into 120 global markets, including broadcasters and platforms such as the BBC, Sky, Hulu, Nickelodeon, Food Network, Science Channel and National Geographic Channel.
