National Geographic Channel U.S. is set to premiere the documentary companion to George Clooney’s feature film The Monuments Men on February 5.

Hunting Hitler’s Stolen Treasures: The Monuments Men (pictured above) will air on the channel two days ahead of the film’s premiere, at 8 p.m. EST/PST.

Produced by October Films, the one-hour special features archive video and photographs, journals, letters, and exclusive footage from the upcoming film to paint a picture of the band of art scholars that rescued thousands of years’ worth of European art and artifacts from Nazi-occupied Europe.

Interviews in the one-off feature surviving members of the Monuments Men unit, historians and family members, as well as actors from the film, which stars Clooney, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray.

October Films’s Adam Bullmore is executive producer, Rebecca Hayman serves as producer, and Paul Nelson is the director. For National Geographic Channel, executive producer is Hannah Demidowicz.
