Warrior Poets ups Matthew Galkin to partner

The producer-director (pictured), whose credits include One Direction: This Is Us, will work alongside the New York-based company's founders Morgan Spurlock and Jeremy Chilnick as partner.

Warrior Poets, the New York-based production company founded by filmmaker Morgan Spurlock and producer Jeremy Chilnick, has promoted Matthew Galkin (pictured) to partner.

In the role, he will continue to exec produce, direct and develop documentaries, TV programs and web series. His credits include One Direction: This Is Us, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, and the ESPN Films ’30 for 30′ doc The Dotted Line. He also served as executive producer on the CNN series Morgan Spurlock: Inside Man.

His web credits include A Day In The Life for Hulu and the Webby-nominated series Failure Club for Yahoo!

“During his tenure at Warrior Poets, Matthew has brought his unique energy, creative experience and storytelling mastery to projects in both the top-tier documentary film world as a director and producer and in the reality/non-fiction TV world as a showrunner, producer and director,” Spurlock said in a statement.

Before joining Warrior Poets, Galkin produced and directed the HBO docs Kevorkian and I Am An Animal: The Story of Ingrid Newkirk and PETA, and the music doc loudQUIETloud: A Film About the Pixies.
