Shine Iberia hires Ruth Martinez as head of acquisitions

The former Boomerang TV acquisitions exec (pictured) will add international formats to the Shine Group's Spanish and Portuguese production arm as head of acquisitions.

Shine Iberia has hired Ruth Martinez (pictured) to be its head of acquisitions.

In the role, she will look for international formats to produce for local audiences in Spain and Portugal.

Martinez previously worked as the head of acquisitions and sales in the international department of Boomerang TV. She has also worked as a commercial manager for 3Koma and as a television director and on-air host.

The Spanish and Portuguese production arm of the Shine Group produces MasterChef and The Voice Portugal and is developing the titles Chef’s Academy. The company also handles the Talpa Media catalog in the region.

Other credits include the Spanish titles Me Resbala, Con una sonrisa, Baby Boom and Por Arte de Magia and Portuguese titles Vale Tudo, Cocina2, Sabe ou Não Sabe, Portugal em festa and O Formigueiro.
