U.S. cable net A&E is entering the tattoo reality sub-genre with Epic Ink, set to premiere on August 20 at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST.

The 10-episode series, produced by Matador, follows the staff at Area 51 Tattoo in Springfield, Oregon – a shop that specializes in hyper-realistic tattoos that feature characters and scenes from sci-fi films and pop culture.

Also featured in an upcoming episode will be Elvira, Mistress of the Dark – no stranger to cult films herself – who visits the shop to get her first tattoo.

Executive producers for Matador are Jay Peterson, Todd Lubin, Sara Quick and Jerry Carita. Executive producers for A&E are Drew Tappon, Shelly Tatro and Evan Lerner.
