MIPTV and MIPCOM organizer Reed Midem has set its sights on Mexico for the inaugural MIP Cancun, a Latin American television buyers’ summit, set to launch this November.

The two-and-a-half-day event will take place at the JW Marriott Cancun Hotel from November 19-21, and promises acquisition executives from up to 40 channels across 15 Latin American countries, as well as 40 distributors of international programming.

The focus of the summit will be both scripted and unscripted programming, including fiction, formats, factual and children’s entertainment.

“MIP Cancun underlines that commitment to Latin America, in a year when we – in partnership with ProMéxico – are also putting Mexico in the spotlight as MIPCOM’s Country of Honor,” the exec added.
