FYI, Realscreen partner for Development Lab competition

The FYI Development Lab contest, slated for the 2015 Realscreen Summit, will award a series of development deals of up to US$20,000 each for up-and-coming producers.

The Realscreen Summit is partnering with A+E Networks-owned U.S. cable network FYI to launch the FYI Development Lab Contest, awarding a series of development deals of up to US$20,000 each for up-and-coming producers.

Producers interested in applying for the contest must submit a two- to five-minute video pitch and a series paper pitch, along with a two- to five-minute video sample of their company’s work.

“The Realscreen Summit has always been a goldmine for discovering new creative talent,” said Gena McCarthy, senior VPĀ of programming for FYI, in a statement. “FYI looks forward to tapping the next generation of hitmakers in this Development Lab, and to finding unique, breakthrough concepts and producers.”

Submissions should be uploaded via summit.realscreen.com/2015/fyi. Entry guidelines and content criteria are also available at that link, and the deadline for submissions is December 5, 2014.

Five winners will be selected and named at a special session at the Realscreen Summit on January 28, 2015.
