Beyond Distribution acquires “Hockey Wives”

Beyond Distribution has inked a deal with Toronto-based Bristow Global Media to internationally distribute the reality seriesĀ Hockey Wives: Married to the Game (pictured).

Due to premiere in Canada on the Corus Media-owned cabler W Network on March 18, the eight-episode series is about the lives of the wives and girlfriends of NHL players in North America.

The cast includes Anger Management actress Noureen DeWulf, model Martine Forget and former U.S. military intelligence specialist Emilie Blum. Cameras follow the women as they raise their families and deal with the stresses that come with periods of separation, partners’ injuries and the threat of their partners being traded.

Beyond will launch Hockey Wives at MIPTV in Cannes in April. The acquisition marks the distributor’s first deal with Bristow Global Media.

“Hockey is a universal sport that carries its own celebrity and these deeply personal stories will resonate with viewers no matter whether they follow the sport,” added Bristow Global Media founder Julie Bristow. “We are delighted to be working with Beyond to share these stories with audiences around the world.”
