Craig McGillivray, formerly a sales executive with Toronto-based Breakthrough Entertainment, is returning to the producer-distributor as VP, distribution.

Most recently, McGillivray had the same post at Toronto’s Peacock Alley Entertainment, and before that, had worked with DHX Media as a territory manager, handling program sales for Asia, Australia, Latin America and Canada.

He began his television career at Toronto’s Ironstar Communications, a programming sales and distribution company founded by his father, Derek.

At Breakthrough, McGillivray will report to Nat Abraham, partner and president of distribution, and will serve in a senior-level role for both international program sales and acquisitions.

“We are delighted to welcome Craig McGillivray back to Breakthrough Entertainment, where he developed his early sales training and left a lasting, positive impression on everyone at the company,” said Abraham in a statement. “Craig is not only recognized in our industry as a dedicated and skilled distribution executive, but is also widely celebrated for his enthusiasm and team spirit.”
