Asian prodco FremantleMedia China has named former Star China exec Vivian Yin (pictured) as its CEO.

Based in Shanghai, Yin – who most recently served as chief representative and VP of production at Chinese media entertainment group Star China – begins the post this week, and takes over from former MD Yu Le, who is leaving the company to relocate to Australia with family.

Reporting to Paul O’Hanlon - MD of FremantleMedia Asia – Yin’s duties include overseeing overall day-to-day management and continuing to expand FremantleMedia China.

Since joining Star China in February 2012, Yin has been responsible for business development, acquisitions and distribution, and supervising the company’s talent show series, including The Voice and Dancing With The Stars. Prior to this, she served as an executive producer with Shanghai Media Group.

“FremantleMedia’s China business is a critical part of our strategic growth in the region,” said Paul O’Hanlon in a statement. “Vivian’s strong sense of content creation and hands-on production expertise, plus her experience as a highly regarded executive at Star China will be a fantastic asset as we step forward with our plans in China.”
